TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Member of the selection committee for future Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) leader Diani Sadia revealed that the committee is focused on improving the internals of KPK based on the current leadership.
Diani said that both the committee and President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) share the same view on the matter after a meeting at the Merdeka Palace earlier today.
She said that the president argues that KPK leaders in the future need to bear strong managing skills.
“Because the internals and externals of the KPK need to be improved,” said Diani at the presidential office’s press conference on Monday, June 17.

Moreover, the committee is left with a daunting task to find a figure that has those much-needed managing skills and not only masters investigative prowess. She said that it is needed to build a better system that is transparent and preventions.
During the press conference, the committee announced that it has opened the registration period as of today and will be closed on July 4th.
Candidates will have to go through an administrative process followed by a competency test via composing a paper on a certain matter. This will then be followed by conducting a profile assessment by a “good human rights organization”.
The KPK selection committee involved the efforts of the National Counterterrorism Agency (BNPT) and the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) to completely scrutinize a candidate’s background.
